Tap water in most cases has high hardness values. Hard water causes limescale buildup, disables household appliances and damages the plumbing system. In addition, excessive amounts of calcium salts can have negative health consequences when they accumulate in the body. Water softeners are used to reduce hardness. The best by far are considered to be ion exchange softeners.

Elevated iron concentrations in tap water promote the deposition and multiplication of bacteria in the plumbing. As a result, the pipes biofouling from the inside and the formation of slime. Over time, pipes rust and gradually deteriorate, and plumbing fixtures deteriorate quickly. Various kinds of water de-ironing filters effectively filter out iron, protecting your plumbing. The reverse osmosis filter is the closure in the whole scheme and cleans the water of all harmful impurities in the water. It has a low capacity and therefore is used only as drinking water.
