Hydroanthracite is a filter material produced using a special technology from anthracite of the Donetsk basin. It is a product of the technological cycle of anthracite enrichment with a special morphological structure, which results in an inert, wear-resistant material with a developed specific surface, large intergranular porosity and high abrasive resistance during crushing. Appearance – black-asphalt-colored crumb with a metallic sheen and cubic or close to cubic grains.

Hydroanthracite is successfully used
for water purification in the chemical water treatment system of thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants, nuclear power plants, and industrial enterprises;
as a support layer for ion exchange resins to improve water quality;
for mechanical water purification in the system of water utilities, to increase the mud capacity of purification;

for the treatment of industrial wastewater, sewage after biological filters, etc.

Hydroanthracite is used in open and closed filters, contact clarifiers; it can also be used in both single-layer and multi-layer loading of mechanical filters. The use of Hydroanthracite in double-layer filters in combination with quartz sand allows to achieve the following results

higher water filtration rate and improved filtrate quality at the outlet;
Higher degree of dirt capacity of the loading (compared to single-layer sand);
reduction of the introduced doses of coagulant and flocculant by 25-30%;
ultimately reducing not only the amount of flushing water, but also reducing the time of filter backwashing by 30-40%.

Important indicators for anthracite used as a raw material for the manufacture of the Hydroanthracite filter material are

regulated ash content (up to 4%)
extremely low sulfur content (no more than 1%)
high mechanical strength (abrasion 0.3%, crushability 2.8%)
